High School Tag

School: Woods Cross High

1. Did you date someone from your high school? Yes, Dave and I were high school sweethearts.

2. What kind of car did you drive? My Dad's maroon 1974 Ford Torino - I never could figure out the stick in his Ford truck. Actually, I spent more time with Dave in his little brown Toyota Celica.

3. What was your most embarrassing moment in high school? Right after I got my license I was pulling into the gas station and I hit the gas pump. I will always be grateful to my Dad for not getting angry over that one!!

4. Were you a party animal? No, I used to hang with a pretty clean crowd, except for Dave. He was the party animal.

5. Were you considered a flirt? That would probably depend on who you ask...

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? No - I was involved in Student Government and performed with the drill team.

7. Were you a nerd? I don't think so...

8. Were you on any varsity teams? No

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? No

10. Can you still sing the fight song? Yeah! Go Wildcats!!

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Bonnie Hobbs - speech and drama, Wayne Cable - student government and sociology, Ila Hodgson - now there was an interesting specimen...

12. Where did you sit during lunch? In the cafeteria or the main hall, or on Dave's lap.

13. School Mascot? Wally the Wildcat- the drill team was called the 'Chatelles' (a female cat) nobody ever announced it correctly at performances. Everybody said 'shitelles'.

14. Did you go to homecoming and with who? I had a different date for the dance each year. Of course my favorite homecoming date was Dave, during my Senior year. He had this stupid tradition about asking a girl to a dance two weeks prior - not a day sooner. Another cute guy planned to ask me to the dance at the school football game. Dave and I had been dating, so I was anticipating an invitation to the dance from him. Consequently, I was in a pretty awkward position when this guys mom called to make sure that I would be attending the football game later that night so that her son could extend an invitation to the dance. I managed to politely decline and of course Dave finally asked me to the dance and of course we had a great time. I remember wearing a Gunnie Sax dress (very popular brand back then) and a beautiful orchid corsage.

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? As Dave would say - HELL NO!

16. What do you remember most about graduation? We didn't have an auditorium so graduation was held in the high school gym. I forgot to take bobby pins so my cap kept falling off my head. High school was great but I was very ready to move on.

17. Where did you go senior skip day? I went to a condo with some girl friends. We layed out in the sun and I got sunburned pretty bad.

18. Have you gained weight since then? Unfortunately, yes. I have nothing more to say on this depressing topic.

19. Who was your prom date? My Junior Prom date was Dave - the dance was traditionally held in the State Capital Rotunda.. We ate dinner at the Dela Fontana restaurant in Salt Lake City. They served a seven course meal that was wonderful. Unfortunately, the restaurant no longer exists.

20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Been there, done that!

21. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Work hard to get good grades, stay close the spirit and be obedient. Dave says keep your pants on!!

Thanks Kori, this was fun. Now I tag Janet and Karla.
